Scott & Hayley – Magical Wedding at Birtsmorton Court – June 2019
If you want fairytale, magical wedding inspo then look no further than Scott and Hayleys incredible celebration at Birtsmorton Court.
A unique, medieval venue nestled in the Worcestershire countryside, surrounded by acres of land, it was the perfect setting to tie the knot. It has to be one of the most memorable venues I have shot at this year, purely for it’s stunning grounds and variety of amazing photo spots!
As a photographer, I felt incredibly spoilt for choice wandering around the grounds when I first arrived on site in the morning. I remember thinking, “how the hell am I going to capture this entire place in all its glory and not miss anything out?!” I wanted to shoot everything and everywhere… and thankfully I think we just about managed to! Although, I’m sure when I’m next back I will inevitably find new spots which I had completely missed before..
Scott & Hayley decided to have their ceremony at Birtsmorton’s 14th century chapel, one of the few venues in the West Midlands with its own church on site. It was such a lovely intimate space to have their ceremony and was certainly one of the highlights of the day.
After the ceremony, Scott, Hayley and their guests were guided back to the main castle, overlooking the moat (yep, it has it’s own moat!) and enjoyed a their drinks reception in the sunshine. They were lucky enough to be able to make use of the wonderful different spots around Birtsmorton grounds for their drinks reception, including a gin bar on the lawn and a string quartet keeping guests entertained in the rose garden. The wedding breakfast took place in the marquee; a lovely bright and airy space which looked wonderful with all the decor and gin bottle centrepieces for the tables.
After the speeches concluded the wedding breakfast, we managed to sneak back out for 20 minutes for some extra portraits and take everything in. I always love to make the most of any extra time on a wedding day, and quite often the photos we take during that time end up being some of the couples favourites!
The evening celebrations kicked off with an incredible live band, ‘The Sonics’, followed by sparklers at dusk and a surprise firework display over looking the moat, which was an insane way to round off the evening! Can we just do it all again!? Thanks so much Scott & Hayley for having me capture your amazing day!
