Back in May, I had the pleasure of capturing Jo & Raj’s wedding at the stunning Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. It’s not every day I get to witness not just one, but two ceremonies! Embracing and celebrating each others cultures was an important part of Jo & Raj’s day, which Manor by the Lake catered for wonderfully in providing them two separate ceremony spaces and creating a bespoke timeline for their day.

It was my first time shooting a Hindu ceremony too and it certainly did not disappoint! From the initial precession to the end, it was filled with dancing, music, laughs and of course the all important traditions and symbolic rituals that a traditional Hindu ceremony follows. There were so many beautiful elements to capture and it was quite stunning to watch. The civil ceremony took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Italian Garden, and despite the shower of rain, Jo & Raj’s smiles stayed strong throughout and certainly didn’t put a dampener on their day.

The ceremonies were followed by a feast of traditional Indian cuisine, (yep, I got some too and it was amazing!) catered for by the fab team at Manor by the Lake.

Following a day of quite literally all weathers, we fully welcomed the sun making its appearance after the speeches so that guests could enjoy the ice cream cart out on the terrace. Jo & Raj also managed to make the most of the golden hour sunshine as we went for a wander around the beautiful grounds surrounding the manor for some couple photos. What a way to wrap a wedding!

Thankyou both again for having me capture your special day, it was amazing to have been a part of. Special thanks also to Manor by the Lake for their excellent hospitality!

If you enjoyed Jo & Raj’s blog and are still looking for your wedding photographer, my 2020/2021 diary is still open and I would love to hear from you and chat about your upcoming wedding! Drop me a message via my contact form today and lets get a date in the diary for coffee!

Steph & Ollie – Back Garden DIY Wedding – June 2019

“What’s your favourite wedding venue?” .. is a question I get asked a lot! And truth be told… I don’t officially have one. My favourite weddings have always been ones with lots of personal touches, inclusive of its setting. Which is exactly how Steph & Ollie did theirs, and decided to have their celebration at their family home in Kent; it was the most perfect setting for them and summed up their personalities in a nutshell. Think DIY vibes, marquees, grass fields and apple orchards… Ahhh!

If you want fairytale, magical wedding inspo then look no further than Scott and Hayleys incredible celebration at Birtsmorton Court.

A unique, medieval venue nestled in the Worcestershire countryside, surrounded by acres of land, it was the perfect setting to tie the knot. It has to be one of the most memorable venues I have shot at this year, purely for it’s stunning grounds and variety of amazing photo spots!
