Nick & Sarah – English Country Wedding at Ramster Hall – July 2019
Ramster Hall has always held a special place in my heart since shooting my first wedding there back in 2018. Its unique family history, their beautiful secret gardens, the wonderful team and exclusive use of the main house are all huge parts to play in making this venue truly special for anyone who decides to choose Ramster Hall to host their wedding celebration.
So when Nick and Sarah got in touch last year and shared with me all of their exciting wedding plans for their summer wedding at Ramster Hall, I couldn’t wait to be involved!
Nick and Sarah are both incredibly creative, with backgrounds in fashion and design. I’m sure you’ll agree from looking at these photos that their attention to detail and styling, (all done by themselves may I add), was second to none. That wedding breakfast set up is enough to make any professional stylist be in awe! And that’s not all.. the stationery, orders of service, invitations and the welcome sign were all designed by Sarah too. It’s amazing when you get to work with such talented creative couples!
Nick & Sarah were inspired to have a ‘Rustic French Chateau’ themed wedding, which they were keen to recreate with a twist, within a beautiful English country house. Think imported french wine, cheese and charcuterie boards… even Sarah’s dress was made from Calais lace by the incredible dress designer, Dana Bolton.
Nick & Sarah held their ceremony at a nearby church, nestled in the countryside. After all the confetti was thrown, Nick & Sarah jumped in their vintage car provided by Country Style Cars, and headed off to Ramster Hall, where they were welcomed with a glass of champers and a string quartet playing in the courtyard.
Jacaranda Catering were of course on hand with their impressive canapé selections and fizz. They even went the extra mile and accompanied us during Nick & Sarahs couple portraits, patiently waiting on hand with a tray of canapés and ensuring their glasses were always topped up with champagne!
After all the formal group photos had finished, I headed into the long hall to get my first glimpse of the incredible details. The long banquet style tables were lined with dusty blue cloths and each place setting was styled with gorgeous gold rimmed etched glasses, gold cutlery, charger plates and surrounded by brass candlesticks and foliage. My favourite detail however, was the small pot of home made honey that Nick and Sarah provided as favours on each place. Nick is a beekeeper, so this was such a lovely, personal touch!
The whole day had such a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, where family and friends lay at the heart of it all. Toasts were raised during the speeches, glasses were clinking, followed by cutting the cake, dancing and lots of laughter. It was the best day ever!
I’m super excited to also announce that Nick & Sarah’s wedding is soon to be featured on Rock My Wedding, so there will inevitably be more wedding spam to come.. yay!
