Katy and Simon’s winter wedding at Rivervale Barn ticked every single festive box! 10ft Christmas Tree? Check. Mulled Wine? Check. Mistletoe? Check. Jazz Pianist playing on demand Xmas tunes? Check!
We were even able to make the most of the beautiful grounds despite the December chill! (Although no snow which really would have been the icing on the Christmas cake) Rivervale Barn also had some lovely spots indoors for photos, making it a wonderfully versatile venue and perfect for any weather scenario.
With 3x Iron Man’s and multi Marathon medals between them, Katy & Simon are absolute powerhouse athletes and I am a little bit in awe of their determination and dedication! It was therefore fitting that each table was named after a race they completed with their medal proudly framed for the table centres, which was a lovely personal touch to celebrate their personal achievements.
The delicious Wedding Breakfast was prepared courtesy of Galloping Gourmet and served by Rivervale’s fantastic events team. Guests were entertained by Danny Mills throughout dinner, the most exceptional and entertaining Pianist I ever did hear. He even took requests from Katy and Simon’s guests and put an impressive jazz spin on some Christmas classics, eventually finishing up with an awesome rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody which had everyone on their feet, some even felt worth abandoning their desserts for, to cry out some QUEEEEEN (seriously it was frikken awesome)
The evening shenanigans continued with Danny bringing in his Band for the party and leading the First Dance. The energy on the dance floor was a sight to behold – I had so much fun!
