Claire & Matt – Romantic, Rainy Wedding at Farnham Castle – November 2019
It’s not every day you get to shoot a wedding for a couple who you went to school with! So when Claire and Matt got in touch and asked me to shoot their wedding, I was honoured! Claire & Matt got together when they were 14, (cute) and 10 years on, appropriately decided to tie the knot at the beautiful Farnham Castle in Surrey.
Claire looked absolutely stunning, in her ballgown style dress from Bride to be Bridal Boutique, perfectly complimenting their choice of venue!
Claire & Matt decided to hold their ceremony in Farnham Castle’s private Chapel, which was such a gorgeous and intimate setting to say “I do’’ in the presence of their family and friends. Their ceremony was so lovely and personal, with readings reminiscing on anecdotes from throughout their relationship over the years.
Despite the rain, Claire and Matt totally embraced all weathers thrown at us on the day; the wind and rain wasn’t going to stop them from heading out into the grounds with an umbrella for their couple photos! Luckily, the Gatehouse and the covered steps provided us with some shelter to keep us from getting too windswept whilst still managing to get some beautiful outdoor shots!
The Great Hall set up for the wedding breakfast looked stunning, with gorgeous centre pieces on the tables from Steph Lovell Flowers and romantic fairy lights dressed from floor to ceiling.
Claire & Matt’s wedding conveniently fell on the same weekend as Farnham’s annual firework display too, so after dinner we head out onto the lawn to watch the fireworks over the hill…(thankfully it had stopped raining by this point!) and it was such an amazing way to kick off the evening celebrations!
Thankyou both so much for having me capture your special day, it was amazing to have been a part of!
All the talented suppliers involved are mentioned below, all of whom I would highly recommend if you are considering a romantic, classic styled wedding.
