Gemma & David – Christmas Wedding at Ramster Hall – December 2019
I love shooting at Ramster Hall for weddings all year round, but at Christmas, the house is particularly special. You’re warmly welcomed to a festive wreath on the courtyard door, roaring fires in the long hall, fairy lights galore and of course, mince pies after dinner! So when Gemma and David told me all about their festive plans for their wedding at Ramster, I couldn’t wait to get involved!
Gemma & David opted for a classic black tie, modern and elegant theme, with the bridesmaids coordinating beautifully in their matte silver dresses and dark green foliage bouquets, with pine leaves and fir cones. Gemma’s dress, designed by Sassi Holdford, was simply stunning with a delicate long sleeved lace bodice and satin skirt. Her sophisticated hair style and elegant makeup, by Liz Patey, beautifully complimented her whole look. Gemma looked especially stunning as the final touches were applied, her veil was placed and bouquet in hand.
The ceremony hall looked beautiful as ever, with the magnificent 12ft Christmas tree twinkling at the front and the isle chairs decorated with sprigs of mistletoe.
After the ceremony, we were lucky enough to dodge the rain and head outside the front of the hall for some couple portraits. It was lovely for Gemma and David to spend 10 quiet minutes together just the two of them, which made for some beautiful photos as they shared their first glass of fizz as husband and wife. Jacaranda were of course on hand too, with their famous canapé selection exclusively for the Bride & Groom!
The Long Hall set up for the wedding breakfast looked magnificent, whilst keeping in line with their simple, yet stylish and elegant theme of whites and green foliage centrepieces. The fairy lights added another gorgeous festive touch and transformed the hall… even if they are up all year round, you can’t ever go wrong with fairy lights, especially at Christmas!
There was plenty of laughter, happy tears and glasses clinking during the speeches. It was also lovely to see Gemma giving a speech, I would definitely encourage all my lovely Brides to do one, even if it’s done impromptu! Gemma and David also arranged a mini quiz to keep their guests entertained after dinner, which was a lovely personal touch and provided lots of laughs!
The evening got underway with Gemma & David cutting their cake and taking to the dance floor under the twinkling lights for their first dance. Jacaranda had arranged an incredible festive cheese board spread, along with a gin bar which kept everyone happy!
Thankyou guys so much for having me capture your extra special Christmas wedding! It was such an amazing day to have been a part of.
